ABOUT RIPPLE YOGA
Hello, I'm Leah
I came to yoga more than 25 years ago, seeking a good stretch for a body that worked hard and needed loosening up and relaxing, and I have been practising ever since.
Yoga has been my constant friend for more than half my life – stretching and strengthening, working and resting, challenging and nourishing my body, mind and soul….constantly filling my cup whenever the level gets a little low, and teaching me to appreciate that I am forever a student of life; forever changing and growing and learning.
I have found that my yoga practice has grown and changed as I have, and it has created a flow-on effect in my life which I didn’t initially anticipate…the positive ripples continuing outwards, creating ever more wide-reaching effects in the world around me. It’s quite wonderful to experience this ripple effect and I would like to bring this into your life….
I am a mum, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend. Like most of us, I wear many hats and fulfill many different roles to many different people in my world. Like you, I am making my way through this life - doing the best I can for those I love and connecting and sharing with others along the way – always learning, always growing, failing often and trying again and sometimes having little wins, too.
This life we’ve been gifted is messy, fun, sad and surprising - sometimes hard and other times easy, quiet and steady at times and at others downright overwhelming…. But, I believe, always worthy of our commitment to embracing it and living it fully.
In 2019, after having moved from the Northern Tablelands to the Northern Rivers a few years earlier, I decided to learn a whole lot more about this ancient practice of Yoga. I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training course with Flo Fenton of Intouch Yoga Byron Bay and I spent 9 months under her tuition and expert guidance. I began the course with the intention of simply furthering my own understanding and my personal practice.
However, I emerged from this training with the deep knowledge that I needed to go beyond my own practice. I wanted to share with others what I have come to know as the single most beneficial habit I have developed in my life.

And so, Ripple Yoga was born.
For me, yoga has been what I keep returning to, day after day, to keep my mind and body balanced, mobile and resilient. A regular yoga practice reminds me that I am strong, powerful, wise and good – that we all are – and that we simply need to remember this and to look within for what it is we are seeking.

Yoga is more than a good stretch or a physical workout.
It is a collection of intelligent, functional practices – physical, mental, energetic and emotional - which begin to teach us a way of living fully in our bodies and interacting with the world around us - and within us - to bring us to balance.

You’ve made it to here….now I’d love to see you on the mat!
